How to do an IRR Adjustment

This guidance will show the BUSINESS SUPPORT team how to do an IRR Adjustment in the past if you have either missed the update date or received the notification late. You must first update the new IRR amount on the tenancy, see here how to do this.

  1. Click on Tenancies under Housing to view all the current tenancies.


  2. Select the tenancy needing a rent adjustment.
  3. Navigate to the RENT & BALANCES tab to review current rent charges.


  4. Navigate to the REFUNDS/ADJUSTMENTS tab.                                                                  
  5. In the Adjustments table. Click + New Rent Refund/Adjustment.


  6. Click the small drop-down arrow to change and or make sure the form is on Adjustment.


  7. You may receive a pop-up saying Unsaved Changes. Click Discard Changes to continue.


  8. Enter the following details:
    • Adjustment Start
    • Adjustment End (This will pre-populate with the day before the new rent charge.)
    • Reason                                                                                                                                      
    • Comments                                                                                                                               
  9. Toggle sent to send for approval and tick the approval box.
    Note: Business Support and Finance have the DOA to approve adjustments.


  10. Navigate to the top of the screen, Save and close.
  11. If you do not have the DOA, in the Adjustments table the new transaction will have a status of awaiting approval.


  12. Once approved, the status will be updated to Closed.
    Note: If you have DOA then the status will automatically update to closed.
