How do I end a tenancy in Zavanti

This guide will help you to end a tenancy in Zavanti.

Note: This guide should also be followed if a tenancy has started in Zavanti and BOS, but the tenant has not and will not move in. Remember to notify Business Support as soon as possible if this is the case.

  1. Go to Tenancies under Housing to view all current tenancies.
  2. Double-click the tenancy that is ending.
  3. Navigate to the VACATING tab at the top.
    Note: You may need to click the three dots to find this tab.


  4. Complete all information:
    • Notice to vacate received date
      Note: A warning message pops up when date is entered – click yes
    • Expected Vacated Date (The date the tenant has advised will be their last day at the property or the date we have given the tenant to vacate)
      Note: This date cannot be changed once you save the page. Double check that the date is correct before continuing.

      Note: A warning message will pop up when a date is entered – click yes. If the date is less than the notice period for the tenancy, an additional note will be added in the warning message.
    • Leaving reason – select from the drop-down list.
    • Exit Destination – select from the drop-down list.
  5. Click Save.
  6. In the business process flow at the top of the page, click on the orange circle Tenancy.


  7. To complete your pre-vacate inspection, see here.
    Note: The pre-vacate inspection should be completed 1 week after you have received a vacating notice from the tenant.
  8. Click Save.

Business Support only, complete:

  1. Click on Tenancies under Housing to view all current Tenancies.
  2. Search or find the Tenancy you wish to complete actions for.
  3. Navigate to the VACATING tab at the top.
    Note: You may need to click the three dots to find this tab.
  4. In the table PRE-VACATE add the BOS/HUD Vacancy Ref
  5. In the table PRE-VACATE toggle BOS Processed.


  6. Add the Tenancy Termination Date – this is the date the tenancy has officially ended in both Zavanti and BOS.
    Note: If you enter a future date, system will issue a warning message and won’t let you save the record.


    Note: If you enter a past date, you will see the message below.


  7. Save the record.
