Employees can search for, and request to attend, or undertake, a range of training items within Cornerstone.
There are two ways in which the training approval process is used, for initial training that has been requested and for completion of a training.
Initial request
If an employee is initially requesting a training, ideally it is requested before the employee attends training, but if they have already completed the training, they still need to apply for this within Cornerstone to have it added to their training record.
For many trainings, there is an approval step. This approval may be because of costs, so you are aware they will be away from the office, or so you can confirm it is training relevant to their role.
Completion request
If the approval is for the completion of a training, this will require managers to check that relevant evidence has been uploaded into Snapshot before marking the training off as complete.
If you are asked to approve a training request, you will receive an email notification, and the training approval will be sitting in your ‘inbox’ on the Cornerstone main page.
Approving a request
Go to the Cornerstone, under your inbox you will see an Approve training link (this will only show if you have training awaiting approval)
Click on ‘Approve training’ and you will be taken through to the list of training requests to be approved.
You just then need to click on Approve or Deny for each training request, you will be able to add an optional comment for your employee.
