Wise Group One and All People Survey frequently asked questions about…
…the Wise Group
Who is the Wise Group, and what is its connection with my workplace?
Collectively the Wise Group is: Pathways (including Women’s Wellness, Hamlin Road Farm and Real), Workwise (including HizBiz), Te Pou (including Matua Raki and Disability Workforce Development), Pacific Inc (including Le Va), Blueprint for Learning, Wise Management Services (including The Monastery), Wild Bamboo, Social Angels and Linkage.
We are one of the largest providers of non-government mental health and wellbeing services in New Zealand. We are a family of charitable entities working together for a common purpose – to create fresh possibilities and services for the wellbeing of people, organisations and communities.

Why doesn't my workplace have its own survey?
We value your thoughts and ideas. That’s why we conduct this survey. While the One and All survey is being run by the Wise Group on behalf of all entities, the questions in the survey relate to your role, your team and your workplace – regardless of where in the group you work.
I recently started working for the Wise Group, why didn’t I receive a link to complete the survey?
If you are new to the Wise Group (employed after 6 July 2014) you won’t receive a link to complete this survey. We want you to concentrate on getting to know your team and settle into your new position. You will be invited to participate in the 2015 survey when you have had some time to form clear opinions about working at the Wise Group. Instead of the 2014 One and All People Survey, you will receive the Wise Group 90 day survey within 90 days of your start date.
I am employed as a casual, why didn't I receive a link to complete the survey?
As a casual staff member, you don’t have the same requirements as a permanent staff member so many sections of the survey won’t be relevant. For example, you don’t have to complete 90-day plans as part of your job. IBM has also advised it is usual practice to remove casual workforce staff as we’re not able to ensure you have the same opportunity as others to complete the survey. Although you aren’t invited to do the survey, we value your opinion and we’d love to know what you think about working at the Wise Group. If you have any feedback, we encourage you to talk to your manager or HR advisor at any time.
…the purpose of the survey
Why have an annual employee survey?
The One and All survey will help your leaders identify what they are doing well and ways in which they can make things better – not only in your organisation, but across the entire group.
The survey will help us understand how you feel about your organisation’s performance in a range of areas including leadership; teamwork; communications; reward and recognition; and learning and development. We will also gain a better understanding of your job satisfaction and wellbeing - what is working and what’s not. The survey also measures how well we are communicating our values, goals and purpose, and whether or not you know what they are and the role you play in contributing to them.
Is it compulsory to do the survey and why should I participate?
It’s not compulsory to participate in the survey – but we really would like you to, and we really do encourage you to take part. This is one of the most important opportunities you will get each year to have your say about your work. So please participate – it’s one way to have your say!
How often is this survey run?
The One and All survey is run annually. This year the survey will be run in October.
…who is running the survey
Who is IMB?
IBM, previously known as Kenexa or JRA, is the country’s leading provider of workplace surveys. In the past two years alone they have worked with more than 500 organisations across New Zealand, from a range of industry sectors including agriculture, manufacturing, electricity, health, local government, wholesale and retail trade, hospitality, transport, finance, IT, marketing and media, science, engineering and architecture, education, and community services.
…completing the survey
When can I do the survey?
The survey opens on 6 October, and will be open for two weeks. It is an online survey – which you complete at your computer.
How do I access the survey?
A link to the survey will be sent to your email address on 6 October.
How much time do I have to do the survey?
The survey will be open for two weeks from 6 October to 17 October. You can complete the survey any time within that two-week period.
How long does the survey take to complete?
Online the survey takes around 20 minutes to complete.
…my confidentiality
Can my answers be identified in the survey?
No – absolutely not. Individual responses are entirely confidential and anonymous. IBM’s strict adherence to confidentiality means that you can be honest and candid in your responses.
We’d like to reiterate that IBM will not provide us with a list of individual respondents who have, or haven't, responded to the survey. The Wise Group will not have access to names or email addresses at all and the only information we will be provided in relation to this is the percentage of people from each organisation that have completed the survey.
Your individual survey responses will always be combined with those of other people.
The IBM online survey reporting requires that at least five people have responded in any given group before reporting becomes available. A combination of demographic groups (e.g. males in the human resources team who are aged 30-39 years old) is considered a group, and the same rule of a minimum of five responses applies.
It is not possible for your individual responses to be viewed by anyone at the Wise Group. The only exception is for free-text comments. Any questions that allow you to make free-text comments will be reported verbatim. Whatever you type into those fields is what management will be able to read. If you are concerned about your confidentiality, please consider this when writing your comments, as a particular reference or 'turn of phrase' may identify you.
…what happens after the survey is finished
What will happen to the results?
IBM will present the survey results to the Wise Group’s leadership team in November (see the Wise Group’s website to view members of the leadership team). The results will be ‘aggregated data’- that means there is no way that anyone who participated in the survey can be identified.
When can we see the results of the survey?
We want to share the results in a structured way, either in face-to-face presentations or in teams. We will share the results with everyone prior to Christmas.
