Medication support observation

This guide will help you to complete a medication support observation using the Understanding Medication support eForm.

1. Open the Understanding Medication Support eForm

2. Under Kaimahi being reviewed search for an employee by typing their name. 

3. Click Next >  

4. Under This review type select the type of review. 

 

The there are 3 types of review you can complete: 

Initial review: To be completed within the first 2 weeks of employment

Six month review: To be completed after six months of employment

Annual review: Complete yearly 

Note: If you want to see what review the kaimahi is up to, there is a section on this page to let you know when/what the last review was and when/what the next review should be.

If the kaimahi is within 1 year of employment the Next expected section will be based on their start date: 

  • Logic for “Next due date

    • For new starters it is their start date + 13 days

    • For people with type “Initial review” it is their start date + 183 days

    • For people with type “Six month review” it is their start date + 365 days

    • For people with type “Annual review” it is their “Med support date achieved” + 365 days

  • Logic for “Next status

    • For employees with no med support type entered, next type is initial

    • For employees with ‘initial’ med support next should be ‘six month’

    • For employees with ‘six month’ med support next should be ‘annual’

    • For employees with ‘annual’ med support next should be ‘annual’

5. Click Next >

6. Select each checkbox to show that you have observed the kamahi demonstrating knowledge. 

Note: All boxes will need to be checked to be able to mark the kaimahi as competent in medication support (apart from Medi-Map which is only if applicable)

 

7. Select each checkbox, if required you can select a different date using the date picker.

If the observation type is either Initial or Six month:

 

If the observation type is Annual:

 

8. Click Next > 

9. Select if the kaimahi has shown they are competent or not competent in providing medication support. 

Note: The option to mark kaimahi as competent will not show unless all required checkboxes were checked/selected. 

10. Click Review Completed

Note: If this was a competent observation an email will be sent to their manager to notify them of a successful observation and the employees details will be updated overnight and reflect in PowerBi. If the observation shows not competent then the kamahi's manager will be emailed letting them know to arrange another observation.
