Using tabs in Teams

Follow

This guide will show you how to use tabs in Microsoft Teams so that your links are easily accessible.

Tabs in Microsoft Teams are quick links to documents and apps so your members can get to what they frequently use, all in one handy spot.  You can have tabs in both Teams Channels and private chats.  Imagine having an excel spreadsheet roster for your group, or that communication document that your team is collaborating on.

By default, Channels have three default tabs, Posts, Files and Notes.

Group and chat messages have two default tabs, Chat and Shared.

If you would like to pin an Excel spreadsheet, word document, PowerPoint or File to the banner you will need to upload this into Files first.

Go to Files -> Upload and select your file.

Click on the three dots next to the file and select Make this a tab.

For other things you would like to pin to the top click on the + in the banner and you can link this to a website/page or add an app of your choice.
