Focus Assist in Windows 10

Follow

Windows 10 has added a feature called Focus Assist (previously known as quiet time) to decrease notifications for those times when you'd like to concentrate on a project without notification interruptions or if you're in the middle of a presentation.

To enable Focus Assist, click on the Action Centre in the bottom right hand corner and then click on Focus Assist.

You can choose between:

Off — Disables the feature, and you'll see the notifications from apps and contacts.
Priority only — The feature will only allow notifications depending on the settings you've configured on your priority list.
Alarms only — Suppresses all notifications while focus assist is enabled, except for alarms.

To configure Focus Assist, go to Settings>System>Notifications and Actions, then Focus Assist Settings

Here you can choose to customize your Priority List for what notification can get through on the Priority setting, as well as detailing who can still get through.

You can also set rules for Focus Assist, such as automatically turning on during certain times or when you're duplicating your display during a presentation.

When you're finished focusing, you can have Focus Assistant give you a summary on any notifications that were suppressed.
