Welcome to your new or refurbished laptop!
You might be a brand-new employee or maybe your laptop had a run in with a cup of coffee?
Either way we’ve got your back, please read our wonderful guide to setting up your device.
- Go through the initial start-up questions by selecting your region (New Zealand) and keyboard (US English or NZ Aotearoa).
- Connect to WIFI, if you’re at a Wise Group site please use the below otherwise please connect to your home WIFI.
- Select: WiseGroup
- Enter the password: revolutionwireless
- You will be prompted to log in with your work email and password if you don’t have one yet or need assistance with this, please contact the lovely Help desk team on (07 857 1226) or (helpdesk@wisegroup.co.nz).
- Next up is a loading page this lets you know that your device is being set up, this may take some time, if you see an error message, select Continue Anyway (please update the device through Windows Update, if it fails the intial set up). When the set up is complete you will be prompted to sign in again.
- You will see a screen to use Windows Hello with your account. You will require a windows hello sign-in method which can be a fingerprint, face ID or if you click on ‘Skip for now’ it will prompt you to set up a PIN.
- Security stuff… if this is your first-time logging in you will be asked to enter your phone number. You can choose to have the code sent to you or receive a call to verify the number. If you are an existing employee, you can use your existing verification method (e.g., Authenticator App).
- You’re in! Now you will be able to log into your apps including Outlook and Teams with your username and password.
Note: there will be updates running behind the scenes, this means some applications may not show immediately and you may be asked to restart, don’t worry this is normal!
Want to speed things up?
Try running updates on your laptop by using the start menu to search for “check for updates” once open click on “check for updates” again and follow any restart prompts
Help! I can’t find my documents?
OneDrive may not sync automatically, to do this manually click on the blue cloud by the date and time on the bottom right-hand side of your screen – click on the settings cog – click settings – select account – click start sync.
There is a few more things that we can get set up to make your life easier:
Open your browser and check The Well is your home page. If it's not, you can go to wisegroup.co.nz, scroll to the very bottom and in the footer, you will see a link to The Well that you can log in to.
Pin the apps you often use such as Teams, Outlook and an internet browser (Edge is our preferred browser) Unpin the apps you don’t need in the taskbar by right clicking on them and selecting unpin
