This guide will show you how to share a document in SharePoint with an external user outside of Wise Group.
- Go to the file in SharePoint > click on the Share icon
2. Type in the persons email address
4. Select the level of permission you wish to give them
5. Add in a message to let them know why they are being shared the link
6. Click Send to automatically create and send an email to the recipient with a link to the shared resource. Alternatively, you can also click Copy Link to be pasted in a separate email or document.
What will the recipient see?
- The external recipient will get an email with an "Open" link to click on to access the file. They will need to go through an authentication process to get to the file.
2. Clicking on the Open link will bring up a security pop up. They will need to enter the same email address the file was sent to.
3. They will need to request a verification code be sent to your email
4. A verification code will be sent to their email
5. Enter this code into the security pop up
Once the code is verified, the file will open on their computer.
