Turn off Auto-fill in Browsers

Auto-fill is a useful feature in browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.  It suggests text to common fields such as name and address to save time when typing in forms.  However, some forms may have sensitive data, so we may want to turn auto-fill off.

To turn auto-fill off in Google Chrome.

Click on the ellipses (three dots) at the top in Chrome and go to Settings.

On the left hand side, choose Auto-fill

Click on Addresses and more.

Click on the slider to change it from blue to grey to turn auto-fill off.

To turn off auto-fill in Microsoft Edge

Click on the ellipses (three dots) at the top then click on settings.

On the left hand side under settings, click on Profile.

Click on Personal Info.

Click on the slider next to Save and fill basic info.  When it changes from blue to grey, auto-fill will be off.
