There are a number of options for transferring calls in Microsoft Teams. You can Transfer the call (cold transfer) or consult then transfer (warm transfer). You can also transfer calls direct to voicemail, or to a mobile phone.
To begin, answer the incoming call by clicking on the phone icon in the incoming call pop up window.
Once in the call, you can select more options by clicking on the ellipse (three dots) on the call window.
To transfer a call (cold transfer)
Click on the ellipse menu and select Transfer.
Begin typing in a person's name or calling group and select from the list.
You will then be able to click on Transfer to the work number. You can also select the option to Ring back if there's no answer.
Click Transfer, or select the arrow next to transfer for options to transfer the call to a person's Mobile or Voicemail. Note: the ring back option will only work when transferring to a work number. It will not work with mobile or voicemail numbers and will grey these options out.
To Consult then Transfer
Once in the call, choose Consult then transfer from the ellipse menu
The original caller will be put on hold. Start typing a name or group to transfer the call and choose from the list.
You will then be able to select Chat, or select the drop down box to choose to make an audio call to that person.
Once the recipient is ready to accept the call, click transfer.
The two callers will be joined, and your calls will end.
