Password Two Factor Authentication

Follow

Security at the Wise Group is very important, since we can be dealing with people's sensitive information.  To make sure no one else can break into our systems, one security measure we use is called Two Factor Authentication.  This is a second level of protection to be used in case you or anyone else tries to reset your password.  You can choose to set up either a mobile phone number, or choose security questions as your second factor for authentication.  By requiring either answering questions only you know the answer to, or by sending a text to your mobile phone, we can be sure it's you who's asking to reset your own password.  Follow along on this one time setup to make sure your work password is secure.

You can also setup the Authenticator App on your mobile phone once this process is complete to enable getting a code sent to your mobile phone for any future password change requests.  See the instructions here at the  Microsoft Authenticator App for Mobile Phones article.

When you try to get to The Well, or another WiseGroup site that normally needs secure access, you will see a More Information required screen.  Press Next to begin the setup process.

The default method of security is to setup a mobile phone number so you can get a text with a code to reset your password.  You can also choose "I want to set up a different method" link at the bottom if you don't have a mobile phone number you want to use, or just prefer to use security questions.  Click here to jump to the security questions setup instructions

You will be prompted to select from the drop down boxes a list of questions.  Choose a question, and then fill in the box with the answers.  REMEMBER your answers, and check your spelling.  You will have to type in these answers exactly in order to confirm it's really you when you need to reset your password.  When you have chosen all five questions and entered your answers, click Done.  You will have successfully setup security questions as your second factor authentication.
