Welcome to the Wise Group!  This article is designed to get new staff up and running with all the basics you need to know about the Wise IS systems.  Feel free to have a more in depth look around as there are lots of tips and tricks in here that will help you out as you get more familiar with your systems.

Set up your email

The first thing you will need to do is open your email and accept the Wise IS computer use policy.  Open Outlook from your Start Menu.

You will be prompted with a couple of dialogue boxes asking you to confirm your name and email address, you can click Next and then Finish on these.

Your Email will then configure itself and Outlook will open.  You will have an email in your Inbox from The IS Team asking you to read the attached policy and click the button on that policy to accept the terms and conditions.

Your email signature

Your email signature is automagically created and attached to the bottom of any email you send.  It is a Good Idea™ to send yourself an email to verify the information is correct.

Add a printer

The first time you log in to any machine, you may have to add the nearest printer.  Check out this article for step-by-step instructions

Introduction to The Well

The Well is the Intranet page where you can go to for news and information about the Wise Group. It's where you will find a directory of all staff across the group, all HR related information and any forms you need to fill out (electronic or paper based).  It is the default home page when you open Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome and should be your first port of call to learn about what's going on in the Wise Group and where to find resources to help you do your job.  Check out this article for a brief introduction to the Intranet

Log in to Payroll Leave and Pay

From The Well, click on the Leave and Pay icon.

The Leave and Pay website is the name of our Payroll portal.  You use the portal to apply for leave, update your personal details (address etc) or check your payslips.  If you work for Pathways, this is also where you go to fill out a timesheet.  Check out this article for an overview of the MyPay.  If you need further help, please contact the friendly payroll team.

Set your password self reset questions

Next you should set up some password reset questions that only you will know the answer to so you can reset your own password if you forget it without needing to phone the Helpdesk.  This is a real time saver and we strongly encourage all employees to do this.  Click here to set your questions.  If you need any further assistance then check out this article for an overview of the process.

How to get help

The first place to look for help is the WiseUp! knowledgebase found on The Well.

wup1.png

If you can't find what you are looking for in here, you can use the "Ask for Help" button which creates a helpdesk ticket with the IT team.  This is the preferred method of contact.

For urgent problems, the team can be contacted via phone on 07 857 1226.
Office hours
Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Outside of office hours, an on-call team member is available
Monday - Friday 7am-8am, 5pm-10pm
Saturday - Sunday 7am - 10pm

Note the on-call service is for urgent problem (unable to connect to the Wise systems, Recordbase is unavailable, etc).  All other issues will be addressed during regular office hours.

How to get Recordbase support

The first port of call for any Recordbase support should always be your Team Coach.  When you first start at Pathways you should be provided with introductory training on how to use Recordbase.  If you haven't recieved this then have a chat to your Team Coach to arrange it.

Your Team Coach can do things like setup which areas you have access to in Recordbase and reset your password if you have forgotten it. The first thing you should do in Recordbase though is to set your security question to enable you to reset your own password should you ever forget it.

  1. Hover over My Account on the top right of the screen
  2. Select Change Security Question
  3. Enter your current password
  4. Enter a security question. Your question should be something that only you know the answer to. For example, "What is the name of my first pet?" or "What is my mother's maiden name?". The question may be anything you like, although generally speaking, a question that requires a one word answer is best.
  5. Enter the answer to your security question
  6. Click save

If your Team coach can't answer your questions then you should email support@wildbamboo.co.nz in order to log a job with the Helpdesk to get your issue looked into.

How to find blocked SPAM emails

We use Office 365 to automatically block SPAM emails as well as any emails with a Virus or Malware embedded in it.  Blocking SPAM is a bit of an art form and it's not something that we can get right 100% of the time.  Occasionally SPAM will slip through our defences and into your Inbox and occasionally we will block a legitimate email as SPAM.  You can see all the messages that have been identified as SPAM by looking in your Junk Email folder in Outlook.  If you find we have blocked a legitimate email you can drag it to your Inbox. You can also set a sender up as a safe sender so that we will never block any emails from them again by highlighting the email and clicking Home --> Junk --> Never Block Sender.
